About Carole

Carole Rogentine has been teaching recorder to adults and children for over 20 years.  She is on the faculty of Levine Music in Washington DC and has a home studio in Bethesda.  She gives private lessons and provides opportunities for her students to play in her ensembles.  She holds a B.A. in Humanities and B.S in Music Education.  She has studied with many teachers including Marrie Bremer, Scott Reiss, John Tyson and Brooke Jaron, and has attended the Oberlin Baroque Institute and University of Indiana Recorder program for teachers.  Carole has been a member of several Early Music performing groups and has been music director of the Washington Recorder Society as well as director of the recorder performing group Kokopelli.  She helps guide her students by accompanying them on the harpsichord.

MY APPROACH TO TEACHING

I teach children, teens, and adults at all levels in both private and group lessons.  My focus is on teaching proper technique, playing pieces that are enjoyable, and cultivating a caring relationship with my students. I provide group experiences as soon as my students reach a level where they can play with others.
